10 miles

Somehow today I ran 10 miles in 1 hour and 50 mins.

I was tired and had a headache when I started but it went away and I pushed it out. I only stopped for 30 seconds twice. Holy cow, I really don't know how I did it.

I am getting nervous about the race, but after a good long run I get less nervous.

Hope I am not too sore tomorrow!

still here, still running

I have been running still. I haven't been blogging. Sorry friends.

I ran 9 fast miles on Saturday. I wanted to do slow, but Matt's sister was due anytime, and we were supposed to go out to dinner. So I had to get it done.

I ran this week. 5 miles. Going to run a few miles outside tomorrow and then 9.5 miles this weekend. Oy! Race is soon!

Sorry this blog has become boring. I will try to get better. There is just no time to work, run, shower, eat sleep repeat and blog. It is hard when it is nice outside, blogging is like a winter sport for me, I seem to do a lot more when it is cold.

I am lame!

8 miles

So I ran 7 last week, and then 5 on Tuesday, and then Thurs and Friday I planed to run because I wasn't working. Right, well, Thursday I laid pool side for 4 hours and then made dinner and watched a movie (and planed a spontaneous trip to the beach) Friday = spontaneous trip to the beach. I thought about taking my shoes and running at the beach, but I didn't want to leave Matt sitting alone for an hour with nothing to do, plus I knew the boardwalk would be crowded. (ok ok, I was lazy- I just wanted to go and relax and eat crap food - which is just what I did ok!)

Saturday I slept in and then got ready for 4th of July festivities. Because of the way my day planned out running didn't happen. Sunday I was in DC all day hanging out and then watching fireworks.

All of that meant that todays run could be a doozy, but I decided that I was going down and doing 8 instead of the 7.5 planned to prove to myself that I can do it and maybe inspire myself to suck less this week.

I ran 3.5 miles, and then I saw my mom was calling. I ignored the call(with the intention to call her back after my run) but then I remembered that she was in NC with my brother and it might have been him calling. So I stopped and call back. It was him! YAY! Made my day! Talked to him for 2 mins or so then we made plans to talk again tomorrow when I wasn't huffing and puffing and when he didn't have to stand still (Marines on base can't walk and talk on the phone while in uniform apparently) My last 4.5 miles was harder, probably because I stopped for a bit, but I pushed through, and only took 2 30second breaks to stretch out. I ran 8 miles in 1 hour 26 give or take some seconds. It felt pretty good.

I missed June's goal of 58 miles by 3.4 miles. I know I should have gone down on Wed and busted them out, but I worked late and had a bunch of thing I needed to get done that night.

July I hope to run 62 miles. 2 months til race day! I am getting excited. These long runs make me feel more confident about this race.

I want a GPS watch

No I really really do.

But I don't want some huge expensive fancy thing since right now most of my runs are on the treadmill. I was reading runners world and I saw the Garmin Forerunner 110 it is pretty much perfect for what I want.

DC Rainmaker is giving one away. I am entering and crossing my fingers and toes.
